Local Activities - Spectator Sports
There are many spectator sports within the town, the most popular being rugby, football (soccer) and cricket. Matches are frequently played throughout the year and the teams can either be seen playing at home or away in other Borders towns.
Rugby is by far the most popular sport within the town, with the 'Langholm Rugby Football Club' team regularly playing matches at 'Milntown', half a mile north of Langholm on the A7 road. Langholm RFC is the oldest Borders team, founded in 1871, and plays at a National level in the 2nd Division National League and the Border League, as well as playing nationally in Melrose 7s tournaments.
